Parcel boundaries were digitized from hard copy Assessor map pages into AutoCAD. Georeferencing was based on 400 scale mylar aerial photographs from 1976. Many Assessor map pages did not fit well together. In order to create a seamless layer, problem areas were stretched or compressed. Topology was created in AutoCAD and closed polygons were exported as an ESRI shapefile. This shapefile was imported into SDE to create the Parcel feature class.

Parcel boundaries are updated monthly. New data are taken from accurately georeferenced AutoCAD drawings when possible. Topology is built in AutoCAD and updated parcel polygons are exported as an ESRI shapefile. Dead parcels are deleted from the Parcel Feature Class. New parcels are inserted into the Parcel Feature Class.
